Letters From Santa

J.P. Belmar (Jennifer Pownall Belmar) studied music and dance as she grew up in Northern Michigan. She continued her studies at United States International University in San Diego where she performed with the International Ballet and the California Ballet, and later earned degrees in Dance and Communications from Western Michigan University. Her interest in the visual arts began during her college years when she began experimenting with a variety of materials and mediums, drawing inspiration from her love of music and dance. In addition to dance, English and preschool classes, Jennifer has taught art courses, combining music and movement as an essential part of the creative process.

Jennifer lives in Murcia, Spain with her husband and 3 children. She spent 9 years homeschooling her kids while running an English academy from her home and creating art by night in her attic studio. As her passion for creating and a demand for her work grew simultaneously, she made the decision to dedicate herself full-time to her artistic creations. Since then, her work has been purchased and displayed internationally.  For fun, she continues to dance and choreograph with a small performance group. Each summer, Jennifer packs up her work and family (including the dog), and journeys back to Michigan where she is able to share her roots with the family and her artwork with her fellow Americans.
